.- The St. Joseph Mustangs snapped a two game losing streak Friday night at Phil Welch Stadium. The Mustangs defeated the North Kansas City Apartments 2-0.
The Mustangs’ pitching staff allowed eight hits in the victory. Jeremiah Figueroa threw six scoreless innings allowing four hits and striking out four. Redmond Floyd pitched the seventh inning and struck out one. Jayme Lovelace struck out three in the eighth and Grant Gavin shut the door on the Apartments in the ninth to record the save.
St. Joseph scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Kyle Richards scored from third on a single by Mike Sherburne. In the fifth inning, Nick Sebastian scored on a throwing error by the Apartments to make it 2-0.
The Mustangs return to MINK League play tomorrow night. They take on the Ozark Generals, with first pitched scheduled for seven o’clock at Phil Welch Stadium.
