Anthony Maselli, Infielder, grew up in Burlington Connecticut. He attended Avon Old Farms High School, an all boys school, where he was Team MVP and helped lead his team to an 80-5 record during his career. Maselli went on to play Division 1 ball at Boston College. While attending Boston College, he studies finance.
Away from school and baseball, Anthony Maselli loves to spend his time outdoors. He enjoys golfing, and is an avid fisherman. Maselli said that someone might be surprised to learn that he is an enthusiastic fan of pop music.
Maselli’s baseball career has been heavily influenced and inspired by his father, who played baseball professionally in the Philadelphia Phillies’ organization. After college, Anthony hopes to follow in his father’s footsteps and continue his baseball career professionally.
Currently, Maselli is simply happy to be spending his summer in St. Joseph. Anthony ended up in the Mustangs organization thanks to his college coach who played with Mustangs’ manager Matt Johnson. Maselli was excited to play for the Mustangs, especially coming with friend and teammate Scott Braren.
Anthony has delighted in his time with the Mustangs thus far. Maselli said he feels excited every day to come out to the park and play, and also to gain the experience that comes with participating in the M.I.N.K. League. He also loves the environment at Phil Welch. “It’s great to come out and play in front of a huge crowd, and receive all the support from the fans,” Maselli said. He has a passion for simply coming to the ballpark, and to “just play ball.”
