Missouri native Ramsey Scott, first baseman, is in his first season with the Mustangs. He attended high school at Cape Central in Cape Girardeau. He played at Maple Woods Community College this year, where he also studied Marketing.
Ramsey came to St. Joe because Mustangs’ Manager Matt Johnson got ahold of his coaches at Maple Woods in an effort to recruit him. Scott has loved his time with the Mustangs so far this season. His favorite part of playing in St. Joseph has been the amazing Mustang fans, he raved about the way the community gets behind the team.
Ramsey Scott’s baseball career has been heavily influenced by all of his coaches and friends, but one influence stands alone. Scott praised the support, and knowledge passed on to him by former coach Todd Pennington. Pennington ran a workout facility that Scott trained at, in addition to coaching the Missouri Bulls, a summer team Scott played for. Ramsey was thankful for everything Pennington did to help his baseball career and development as a player.
Outside of baseball, Scott enjoys spending his free time fishing. Scott was also an All-State swimmer in high school. Looking forward to future, Scott is going to attend Murray State in Kentucky to play Division I ball. He is looking to receive his degree and hopes to work for companies like Nike or Lidz after graduation.
