Mustangs keep momentum going!

Your St Joe Mustangs started their road trip by having a rematch with last night's opponent, the Chillicothe Mudcats.

The Mustangs have won their last three games against the Mudcats. Yesterday, however, was chaotic as the Mustangs had a come-for-behind win via Logan Miller's ninth-inning sac fly.

The Mustangs started out swinging early in the first. Kyle Hepburn singled to left field to drive in Noah Bodenhaus, allowing the Mustangs to lead 1-0.

Jordan Black doubles to increase the Mustangs' lead and scores Hepburn. Frank Gall's single scores Black and Jeter Mauzey. Jayden Little's sacrifice fly scores Gall. Bodenhaus's single to right field ends the third inning scoring as Carson Schmidt makes the score 6-0.

In the fifth inning, Schmidt grounds out to the second baseman but scores Gall, making the score 7-0.

The Mudcats added their offense, as a double cleared the bases, making the score 7-3 in the fifth.

Darius Freeman's sacrifice fly in the sixth gives him an RBI as Bodenhaus scores on a Mudcats error, making the score 8-3.

The seventh was an excellent inning for the Mustangs, as they ran wild on offense. Jayden Little scored on a wild pitch. Bodenhaus hit a sacrifice fly to score Schmidt. Freeman hit another sacrifice fly for another RBI, driving in Truman Bodenhaus, making the score 11-3.

The Mudcats had their offense as a single, and some clever baserunning gave them two runs in the seventh, making the score 11-5

In the ninth, Freeman showed off his power as he demolished the ball over the fence to cap the game at 12-5.

Tim Teixeira closes the game after three batters to keep the Mustangs undefeated in a 12-5 win.

The Mustangs will head to Jefferson City on Tuesday to take on the Jefferson City Renegades at 7:00 p.m.
