The St Joe Mustangs needed a win after losing back-to-back games to the Carroll Merchants. Luckily, Mental Health Awareness Night had the Mustangs going against the Nevada Griffons.
The Mustangs put forth a shutout vs. the Griffons, as they put in stellar pitching with outstanding offense.
It all started with a Carson Schrack flyout that scored leadoff hitter Darius Freeman. Jorden Black's double put him on second, but Jeter Mauzey scored off an error by the Griffons shortstop.
The Mustangs continued scoring in the third as Black reached on a Griffon error at third base, which allowed Trevor McCollum to score.
Dom Felix doubled in the sixth, scoring Black. Frank Gall's single drove in Felix, making the game 5-0.
With the combined pitching greatness of starting pitcher Sam Pitts, reliever Camden Lutz, and closer Jase Johnson, the Mustangs shut out the Griffons in a six-strikeout game.

The Mustangs are taking a break as the St Joe Tenderloins will play their second game of the season! The Tenderloins will face the Sedalia Bombers at 7 p.m. for Star Wars Night.
